The calm waters, easy beach access and great scenery make our base at Tahunanui Beach the perfect place to have a go at stand up paddle boarding.

Moana Stand Up Paddle Boards are located just a short distance from the city centre, offering a full range of stand up paddle board options from their base under the big RED tent right on the beach at Tahunanui.

You can start with the basic techniques and safety tips in a starter lesson or expand your knowledge and skill base in a progression session from one of their qualified instructors. The calm summer mornings will allow you to enjoy the serenity with a SUP yoga session or you may just cruise the beauty of Nelson Haven at your leisure on a freedom rental.

Whether you are a first-timer or a seasoned professional, you will love your time out in the Haven, with Arrow Rock (Fifeshire Rock), Haulashore Island and the Boulder Back all a short paddle from the sand. Plentiful seabirds and marine life such as eagles, southern fur seal and stingray are common - there’s always something to keep you coming back for more!

Moana SUP is the only accredited SUP school at the top of the South and can cater for individuals, groups families or business events.
